Various parts of the plant like Bark, Leaves, Tender shoots, Fruit, Seeds and Latex are medicinally important.
Actions/ Therapeutic Uses
It is mild Laxative, Expectorant, Diuretic, Astringent, Carminative, Immuno enhancer and Anti-anaemic. Useful for the treatment of diseases of liver and spleen. Found to be useful in fever, constipation, hyperacidity, menorrhagia, hepatitis, asthma, epilepsy and dysentery. Figs are very useful in diabetes and a good source of multi vitamins and Iron.
